It started with a canyon...
I think every photographer dreams of being a travel photographer. The lure of the open road, up early for the good light, spend the day exploring the new area you are in, waiting for the even better evening light, go to sleep with the sun - do it all again tomorrow.
It all started for me with a canyon. I visited friends in Phoenix and they took me to the Grand Canyon. I was completely overwhelmed. My photographic sense was overloaded, I had no idea what to frame first. It took me three trips across 10 years to finally come to grips with the vast and complex landscape in order to wrap my head around just how to start photographing the Grand Canyon. But, in that time I was able to upgrade and further master my camera gear; an absolute must for a landscape photographer. Now I can't wait to go back and photograph the Grand Canyon on film, just like I did on that first visit way back in 2000.
The open road is always calling me, whether it's a road trip to the Hudson Valley, a train ride to DC, or a flight across the country. I like to find the quiet, isolated views. I love to explore the lonely and remote little towns along the way.
Please enjoy some of the photos I've found on my travels...
